I am a person\u2011centred counsellor who also works integratively when it best supports my clients, offering blended counselling tailored to individual needs. Alongside my therapeutic work, I am an experienced senior audiologist with strong deaf awareness and a deep understanding of Deaf culture. These skills naturally enhance my counselling practice, allowing me to communicate clearly with clients who lip\u2011read, use basic BSL, or benefit from adapted communication approaches<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are looking for  a mature, sensitive therapist who tries to be flexible to meet schedules, work patterns and fees then I’m available for counselling or supervision two days a week ; Tuesdays and Fridays for in-person sessions and Online<\/strong>. I can provide consultative supervision for professionals supporting and caring for people in everyday roles<\/strong> suitable for vets, doctors, nurses and teachers etc.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lets keep this simple. Person centred means warmth and sincerity from the start, a non-judgemental and a holistic way of working.  Never put people into boxes and choose to look for the wider picture, working with a person centred approach alongside Integrative skills and tools approaches if needed especially with supervision models<\/strong>.  The different models can combine together from the seven-eyed model through to the Cyclical model.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
With collaborative effort, trust and an explorative inquisitive nature we can talk about what is bothering you and attempt to find meaning and  a way forward.   <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

BACP Accreditation means I have met standards set by the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy  for training, experience and Private practice. This accreditation signifies I have undergone extensive assessment to demonstrate my competence and professionalism. Whilst all BACP members adhere to the Ethical framework, ‘Accreditation’ indicates an advanced level of experience and expertise. I have different facets.  I’m a counsellor, audiologist and trained sound practitioner who brings these different elements into the counselling room.  My ‘uniqueness’ sets me apart from others and it allows me to work across different age groups and see people from all ‘walks of life’. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
I have rich experience with Anxiety and Depression, Bereavement and Loss. Recently including baby loss and Clients living with cancer.   These issues are not just limited to the above<\/strong> but often around transitions in life, certain feelings that are difficult to talk about with family or friends.   I work clinically but hold a holistic view to see the whole person as an incredibly special individual. I offer warm, safe environment, free from threat, judgement or criticism. <\/strong> This is fully embracing what in counselling terms we call the Core conditions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is an honest compassionate space where you can be yourself, start to make sense of your world and work out where you fit.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
The work is non-directive, giving you the choice of  where to go in the counselling hour.  If you want direction we can set goals, we can work creatively but my practice is about YOU, upholding respect and autonomy. This is essential if you are to feel comfortable in the therapeutic relationship and find the right counsellor to meet your needs. Please note I have a variety of fees reflecting different working times and days along with a few reduced slots (20% reduction) as sliding scales for individual who struggle to meet the full fee. This needs to be discussed on first inquiry as very much depends on my availability before contracting and agreeing to work together.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Quieter periods offer Introductory Calls of 20 mins (free) via my Counselling Directory page but during busy counselling days may not offer these and go straight into paid sessions which require completed intake forms forming part of my assessment process (see pages on the website giving example of my intake questions and full fees).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
